If you're looking for an elegant resort at Walt Disney World, with space to spread out, may I present Disney's Riviera Resort. This beautiful resort opened December 2019 and is located adjacent to Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort.
My husband and I stayed in a Deluxe Studio-Preferred View room. We loved the features of this room:
- Super comfy queen bed
- Queen size murphy bed that converts to a sofa
- Pull down single bed
- Kitchenette with microwave, toaster, coffee maker, mini-fridge and sink
- A huge bathroom with TWO showers, one of which has a bathtub
- Surprising amount of storage
-Lots of outlets and USB charging slots
Dining
The counter service restaurant, Primo Piatto serves up French and Italian inspired specialties as well as standard Disney offerings. We also tried an afternoon espresso and yummy mini lemon madeleines from La Petit Café. Bar Riva serves up cocktails, wine, beer and hearty snacks pool side. Try the chicken wings!
On check out day, we enjoyed a leisurely breakfast with Mickey and pals at my favorite character meal at the very top of Riviera - Topolino's Terrace. The food here is remarkably good and the characters are super cute. Minnie is my favorite!!
Transportation
The Disney Skyliner has become my absolute favorite mode of transportation at Walt Disney World. It's quick, convenient and a peaceful start or end to a day in the parks. Even when lines are long, the continuous loading means you really do not wait long at all. Once aboard, the gondolas are comfortable and offer beautiful views. At Riviera, you can take the Skyliner to Epcot or Hollywood Studios. For Magic and Animal Kingdoms, guests may use Disney Bus Transportation.
All in all, I highly recommend Disney's Riviera Resort. The rooms are really comfortable, and while I do not cook on vacation as a rule, having a morning coffee in the room was very convenient. A family could definitely save money on breakfast by having a few groceries on hand. The two showers set up in the bathroom is an inspired design choice and would make a stay with 5 people much more convenient. I can't wait to stay here again!
