I Rode Remy's Ratatouille Adventure BEFORE Official Opening Day

A brand new attraction opens in Epcot's France Pavilion on October 1, 2021, just in time for the 50th Anniversary Celebration at Walt Disney World Resort. Remy's Ratatouille Adventure takes guests on a fun filled spin through the Paris kitchen of our favorite Little Chef, Remy the rat!

On September 8, 2021, I was able to experience the new attraction at an Annual Passholder preview event. It was a hot day at Epcot's France pavilion, but all of my fellow guests were super excited to be there! We had to show our confirmation email and then have our Magic Bands or ticket cards scanned to enter the newest area in the France pavilion.

The new neighborhood has the Remy attraction, a NEW set of bathrooms (honestly - these were BADLY needed here!), a little merchandise area and a new dining option called, The Creperie which offers both sit down and takeaway options (more on these soon).

The line was building for the attraction, so I went right over and got into the queue. As we wound our way through, I saw so many details as only Disney can do them. The wallpaper has little rat silhouettes AND notice the position of the EXIT signs as you walk through. They are people height AND rat height.

Partway through the indoor queue, we came across a scene set on the Paris rooftops where Remy lived with Linguini and the famous Chef Gusteau's sign talked to US just like in the movie. There were a couple more little scenes that I don't want to spoil and soon, we were able to pick up our 3D glasses and climb aboard our rat car.

The ride is so much fun! Just as great as I remembered with some details that I must have forgotten. It's similar in the movement of the car to Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway. These types of dark rides are such classic Disney entertainment. Fun for everyone and not so over the top exciting that little ones or less brave kids can't enjoy them.

After I rode, I got a couple of photos from the Photopass photographer and then it was time to have lunch at La Crêperie de Paris. The menu features savory galettes and sweet crepes, and, to complete the authentic experience, they have hard ciders from Brittany in France. I ordered the Remy Ratatouille Galette and the Red Berries crêpe. (It's a tough job, but what can you do?)

These were delicious! The presentation was a little different than the galette and crêpes I had in Paris, but delicious nonetheless. The ratatouille filling was hot and yummy, with diced vegetables in a savory tomato sauce. My crêpe contained warm, red berries and was not overly sweet, which I appreciated. I would highly recommend trying these on your next visit.

If you want a way to bring some of that Remy magic home, the merchandise kiosk has a number of adorable options for you. Choose a chef toque with some surprises inside, a set of ears, or the remote control wearable Remy!

I can't wait to experience this attraction again when I return to Walt Disney World for the kick off to the World's Most Magical Celebration, beginning October 1, 2021!
