Tuscany Farm Visit. Day 4 of my Italy Adventures by Disney trip

Today was THE day. The one day in our itinerary that I was most excited for. We were set to visit a working farm in Tuscany and learn to make pasta by hand and have a wine tasting lunch on the terrace!! I was so excited I could hardly stand it!!

After a lovely breakfast at the Borgo (did I mention that ABD includes each and every breakfast during your trip?), we boarded the motorcoach to visit Sarah's farm in the TUSCAN COUNTRYSIDE!! (Have I also mentioned how excited I was for this?!?)

Just driving through Tuscany is an EXPERIENCE. The rolling hills. The sunshine. The olive orchards and vineyards. It's just paradise! And I was ready to get some agriturismo on!!

At the farm, everyone got a pasta making demo from the super charming Sarah. We mixed flour and egg by hand, rolled it and cut it into pasta. Some with more success than others. But everyone had a grand time with it.

After our pasta-making lessons and clean up were complete, we got a tour of the farm. We met some lovely cows, saw the wine making operation and toured through the olive orchards. It was blazing hot that day, so we were ready for shade and lunch. While the adults had a wine tasting, the Junior Adventurers got to make some flavored olive oil in little bottles.

The lunch we had was outstanding. We enjoyed salads and handmade pasta with a fresh zucchini and pea sauce. Something I really appreciated was being able to take home the recipes and we have actually made the pasta and the sauce at home several times. My daughter made pasta by hand for her friends at college too.

I truly did not ever want to leave. Though I know the farmers here work very hard and can struggle through adverse conditions, the setting just has the most charm and beauty of anyplace I have ever been. I long to return to Tuscany and stay a good, long while.

We had an afternoon on our own back at the Borgo and I definitely needed a little downtime after our wine lunch! That evening, we had a treat in store - a special florentine dinner at a 15th century Castello. The setting was gorgeous! I could just imagine the castle in it's prime with the gardens and beautiful rooms.

We took in the view from the garden first. Then we went inside for our festive meal. It was fun to see all the Junior Adventurers sit together, laughing and teasing like they'd known each other for years, not days.

We were just finishing dinner when we were joined by our entertainment - a musical / comedy / dance troupe. They played music and danced with us and put on quite a fun show! At the end of the evening, we boarded our motorcoach for the ride back to our hotel.

What a special day!!
